Miners working at the Santa Rosa mine of the Uruguay Minerals mineral company, Uruguay near the border with Brazil, have just discovered a special block of quartz, containing a very strange heart shape inside.

Lorenzelli, head of the mining company Uruguay Minerals, said that after 2-3 hours of moving a large rock with an excavator, they discovered a heart-shaped amethyst block inside.

According to Mr. Lorenzelli, it is truly a treasure. Over the years, “mother nature” has been creating amethyst and this company was lucky to find it.

Immediately, the company shared images of the rock on its website and social networking sites, causing many people to widen their eyes in surprise.

The company has received many inquiries to buy, with some people bidding up to 120,000 USD. Netizens were surprised by the strange stone block, some said it looked like an artificial work, but others thought this work was very suitable as a gift for Valentine’s Day.

In 2018, a mining company also found a large rock weighing 95kg. This block of rock contains 2,400 ounces of gold. The remaining rock weighs 63kg and contains 1600 ounces of gold.

The two rocks were found near the city of Kalgoorlie, Australia and are made of quartz.

Finding this type of rock with so much gold is very rare.

According to Professor Sam Spearing of Curtin University, gold mixed in rocks is usually only a few ounces.

Quartz is a very hard stone, second only to diamond, discovered about 300,000 years ago.
